Let's talk about task bins! Task bins are tasks that focus on developing and building independence. They primarily include fine motor, matching, functional skills, and puzzle based tasks. Task bins provide visual structure and repeated practice on skills and concepts to allow for mastery. Once students have developed mastery and independence tasks are rotated with increased difficulty added to the task. Students are focusing on an inquiry unit about Spring, learning about signs of spring, growth, and living vs. non-living things. Students have recognized what determines that something is alive, for example it grows and gets bigger, has energy to move, drinks water, and breathes. Students have also brainstormed things that grow. We know that babies grow and turn into people, plants grow, and animals grow. Students have also been thinking of what they would like to be when they grow up. Stay tuned to see how we navigate our way through this unit with so many hands on activities. S
